Houses are found in variety and similarity in every state and territory, in city and country, in hot climates and cool. But – each of our houses is our HOME —- our own personal signature about all that is of importance to our lives. Transforming a house into a home is the most important task for all of us to complete when we make this biggest purchase of our lives — or even if we are renting, we still need to be able to make it an extension of our personality, so the furnishings we use become of prime importance in creating our very own haven!

There are farmhouses and flats, terraces and shacks, cottages built of brick, stone, timber, fibro and other assorted mediums. There are residences built for police, teachers and soldier settlers; suburban bungalows and migrant workers’ houses. Some houses are well over a century old, others were built recently. Our individually unique history and personality is written in the walls, the furniture and the gardens of Our Home. Our house tells the story of its builders and residents, generation after generation. As they raised families, took in boarders, formed new relationships, grew old, they constructed, fixed, extended and modernised.
